KHANQAH OF SHAH-E-ATA

KHANQAH CHISHTIA MUNAMIA ABULOLAIA

Shah-e-ata has been the most famous and one of the most spiritually enlighted Sajjadanasheen of Khanqah Chishtia Munamia Abulolaia which was founded at Delhi in 7th century hijri by his great ancestor Syed Shah Tajuddin Dehlavi(d.691A.H),a disciple of Khawaja Gharibnawaz.

He reamined the sajjadanasheen of the Khanqah for 57 years from 1254A.H to 1311A.H.He succeeded his Paternal grandfather Syed Shah Ghulam Hussain Danapuri(d.1254A.H),one of the most famous disciple of Maqdum Munampak, and was succeeded by his grandson Shah Nezamuddin Chishti Munami(d.1326A.H).

As stated above the Khanqah was established in Delhi by Tajuddin Dehlavi, the disciple of Khawaja Gharibnawaz,it reamined there till the death of Shah Tajuddin Dehlavi R.A.Syed Shah Alauddin Kalpavi, the son of Tajuddin Dehlavi migrated to Kalpi,Uttar Pradesh to spread Islam and dedicated his life to the cause of Allah .One of his descendants,Shah Taqiuddin urf Budhe famously known as Badshah ke Pir migrated to Hajipur on the request of Daud Shah, the then king of that kingdom as Hajipur was the capital of that kingdom and Daud Shah a disciple of his. That is why he is remembered as Badshah ke pir.Again his son Syed Shah Qutubuddin migrated and refounded the khanqah in a locality now known as Kachauri Gali in Patna,Bihar for the same cause again:The Spread of Islam.Again in 11th century the sajjadanasheen of his time Shah Mohammad Basir R.A migrated to a place now known as Danapur,a satellite town of Patna and layed down the foundation of the Khanqah overthere.

Shah-e-ata(his father died when when he was only 11 years old) after the death of his granfather
reamained in Danapur for few years and left for Medina Munawwarain in his late 20s.After he completed his Hajj and was presented in the court of Prophet Muhammad(S.A.W)(he was betowed with the Ziyarah of Prophet Muhammad(S.A.W) in reality and not in dreams) he had no intentions to leave Medina Munawarra, the holy city of Prophet Muhammad(S.A.W).But he was ordered spiritually from Prophet Muhammad(S.A.W) to go back to Bihar and accept the responsibility as the Qutub, the spiritual leader of Gaya. That is why he is remembered as Qutb-e-Gaya(the spiritual leader of Gaya till the day of judgement). He arrived at Gaya in the year 1850A.D and laid the foundation of the Khanqah in the locality now known as Khanqah Road,Ramsagar

His son joined him in his endeaqvour to spread Islam merely at the age of 20 but 2 years before his fathers' death. But his spiritual chain continued as Shah-e-ata ordered his grandson,Shah Nezamuddin to accept baith on the hands of his father,Shah Qutubbudin. And Shah Nezamuddin got the Ijaza of the all the orders from both his father and grandfather.

The present Sajjadanasheen of the Khanqah is Amir-ul-Mashaiq Syed Shah Ghulam-e-Mustafa Chishti Munami. He is 6th sajjadansheen counting from Shah-e-ata and has been serving the Khanqah and people of Gaya since 1958.
